| The Hunter finishes out the year in either Pirates Cove or Hatteras, depending on where the fish are. Cooler temps bring more great King Mackerel fishing. Good numbers of Yellowfin and Big Eye tuna congregate to the east. The Red Drum as well as Rock Fish ( Stripers ) show up in the Diamond Shoals area. And then there's the Bluefins ... In 1999, Cap'n Walt found the first sight of Bluefins around December 10'th. You haven't lived til you've fought one of these guys. Anglers compare the raw power, size and stamina of a Bluefin tuna to trying to reel in a propellered Mac truck! Most of our Bluefins are in the 250-300 pound range. But don't rule out a giant.
